Our society has a massive food waste issue: large amounts of edible food go to waste while many people struggle to find enough affordable food to eat. One grassroots solution to this problem are community fridges, which make leftover food accessible in an organized way. The association Keru has been running a community fridge in Kallio for more than five years now, and Friends of the Helsinki invited Keru to give a presentation of how it all works and why you should know about it, too.
What: Presentation of the Keru community fridge and discussion on food waste activism in general
When: Monday the 29th of January at 6.15 P.M.
Where: Classroom 8 of Kalliolan Setlementtitalo, Sturenkatu 11, second floor (= ground floor + 1)
