Welcome to the Green Guide to Helsinki by Friends of the Earth Helsinki!
This is a mapping of things of interest for an environmentally-minded newcomer to Helsinki that's accessible without skills in Finnish. Here you'll find things like national parks, recycling centres, second-hand shops, DIY bike workshops etc. in one place.
Consider this as one window to the capital area, not a comprehensive listing of all good things nor a collection of perfectly spotless actors fully endorsed by Friends of the Earth. Some details might be a bit off or outdated, and we obviously can't promise that none of the places on the map have anything questionable about them: the companies, associations etc. are responsible for their own activities. The map is updated about twice a year, and any reported mistakes or other dubious things will be checked.
We hope you enjoy the guide! Please let us know what you think (and report any bugs or issues) by writing to helsinki [at] maanystavat.fi
